Stump the Bookseller

It’s time for another round of Stump the Bookseller, in which you show off your sleuthing skills to help find a particular novel of speculative fiction for young readers. You don’t have to be a bookseller to play, but the winner will be bestowed with the title

Super Bookseller Sleuth

Thanks so much to everyone who tried to help out last week–we’re still looking for the answer if you want to give it a go. This week’s clues were provided by Super Sleuth Beth. Ready to play?

  • It’s a book by a famous author, but it’s old–I think it was published maybe 50 years ago?
  • The author also wrote a very popular series of kids books, I think some have been made into movies? But this book is for adults, not kids.
  • It’s based on some myth.
  • The title has something to do about faces

ETA: Steve is our new Super Bookseller Sleuth. To see his answer…

  1. Till We Have Faces, by CS Lewis!

  2. I knew it would be a CS Lewis book from the second I saw Beth had come up with the clues.

  3. :) I knew that one immediately, too.

It’s BUGGING ME that I can’t get the other one, though. Just. Bugging. Me.

I see I am too late… great clues!

  5. Aw, shucks! I’d hoped that one would be tricky :) Guess I’m too predictable.
