Stump the Bookseller

It’s time for another round of Stump the Bookseller, in which you show off your sleuthing skills to help find a particular novel of speculative fiction for young readers. You don’t have to be a bookseller to play, but the winner will be bestowed with the title

Super Bookseller Sleuth

Last week’s winner allegore has provided the clues for this week. And here they are:

  • This book has something to do with tattoos
  • It’s a series and there are vampires – but it’s not Twilight
  • I think it takes place in a big city – at least that’s what’s on the cover

Good luck!

ETA: Liz Encarnacion is our new Super Bookseller Sleuth. To see her answer…

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

  1. The only thing I can think of is Foundling, the first book in the Monster Blood Tattoo series?

  2. Liz Encarnacion

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare?

      You are our Super Sleuth!

Actually, the answer allegore provided me was the entire series, so I would have taken any of the Mortal Instruments books.

      Good work.

The City of Bones book is the one that really looks like it has tattoos, so that’s why I specified that one. :)

I kept squinting at online images of all the books to see what was up with the tattoos. I think all of the book covers actually show people with tattoos, but you’re right–City of Bones has these really obvious ones all over the guy.

  3. Ditto what Liz says! That leaped into my mind immediately! Good one!

  4. Oh, I thought it was Blue Bloods.

I’m late to the party, but congratulations Liz! Well done!
